Getting started

Connect BigCommerce

1Connection

Create an API account

In your store: Settings, API accounts, Create API account. Tick Products, Orders and Information, and BigCommerce shows the token once. It is encrypted before it is stored.

2one store at a time

Paste the store hash

It is the code in the API path BigCommerce shows beside the token, between /stores/ and /v3/. Paste the whole path if it is easier. A second store is a second connection, with its own name.

3Synchronisation

Begin the import

Products arrive with their variants, images and stock, orders follow with their lines and addresses, and stock goes back in batches of fifty.

What moves

Data synchronised with BigCommerce

Catalogue

in

Every product with its variants, options, images and prices, and the hidden ones as well as the ones for sale.

Orders

in

Orders with the delivery address and every line, read from the moment they are paid rather than when somebody opens the control panel.

Stock

out

Stock only, set per variant - or per product where the store tracks it that way - so your prices and your descriptions are left alone.

Dispatch

out

Each parcel recorded against its address with the lines inside it, so half an order shows as Partially Shipped until the rest follows.

Configuration

BigCommerce integration details

Connected with an API account you create in your own control panel, and revoked there whenever you like
No app to install and nothing to approve: BigCommerce issues the credential, not us
Stock is written where BigCommerce keeps it, per variant or per product, whichever the product is set to
Prices, tax and shipping are taken as the store states them, never recalculated here
Questions

BigCommerce frequently asked questions

Where do I create the API account?

In your store’s control panel: Settings, then API accounts, then Create API account. Tick Products, Orders and Information, save, and copy the token — BigCommerce shows it once.

What is the store hash?

The code in the API path BigCommerce shows beside the token, between /stores/ and /v3/. Pasting the whole path works too; the hash is read out of it.

Does this work on any plan?

Yes. The API is on every BigCommerce plan; what changes with the plan is how many requests a store may make in thirty seconds, and the sync paces itself inside the smallest of those.

Will it change my prices or descriptions?

No. Stock is the only thing written back. Everything else is read.

Moving from another platform? We move you for free.

We import your catalogue, connect your channels and carriers, and stay with you through the first orders, on every plan. Your current system keeps running until you switch.

Connect your BigCommerce store

Start a 14-day trial, connect your store and review the imported products before enabling synchronisation.
