Offers and sold-out listings

Both are on the connection’s Listing settings tab, under Default settings or in a listing profile.

  • Offers lets a buyer suggest a price. Accept offers automatically and Decline offers automatically are a share of each listing’s own price, so a price change moves them too. eBay does not take offers on auctions or on listings with variations.
  • When stock runs out either keeps the listing, hidden until you restock and back with its watchers and sales history, or ends it. The choice is saved to your eBay account.

Parts compatibility

A part lists the vehicles it fits, and buyers who have told eBay their car only see parts that list it. The list is the Fits panel on the product page, in eBay’s own words for the category: Car make, Model, Year, and whatever else that category asks.

  1. Match the product to a parts category. Under Filing, Category on eBay shows the match; press Find a category or Change. A category for whole vehicles takes no fitment, and the Fits panel says so.
  2. Press Add a vehicle. Each box suggests eBay’s values for what is chosen before it, so the models listed are that make’s. Typing volkswagen finds eBay’s VW, and a spelling eBay does not know is marked before it is added. A year range, 2011 to 2018, adds one row for each year the model was made.
  3. Or press Paste a list and paste one vehicle a line, from a spreadsheet or a supplier’s list: Ford, Focus, 2011-2018.
  4. Each row has a Notes box, a pencil to change the vehicle and a bin to remove it. Remove all empties the list, and the button at the right of the bar opens it full screen.
  5. Press Save changes at the top of the page. The vehicles go to eBay with the next publish or update, up to eBay’s limit of 3,000 a listing.

Vehicle lists

A shop selling parts for the same cars types the same vehicles on every product. A vehicle list keeps them once. Lists live on the eBay connection’s Vehicles tab.

  1. Press New list, give it a name and the columns in eBay’s words, in order: Car make, Model, Year.
  2. Paste the vehicles in, one a line. Search narrows a long list, and ticked rows can be removed together.
  3. On a product, press Add from a list in the Fits bar, choose the list, search it and tick the vehicles this part fits. Vehicles already on the product are marked.

Save this product’s vehicles as a list turns a product you have already filled in into a list for the next one. A product copies what it takes, so changing a list changes what the next product is offered, not listings already sent.

Promoted listings, sales and offers to watchers

The connection’s Promotions tab holds all three.

  • Promoted listings show your listings higher in search. You pay the rate only when an ad leads to a sale, as a share of the sale price. Pick listings, then Promote at this rate or Use eBay’s suggested rates; Stop promoting takes them out. New listings can be promoted automatically at a default rate, and the ad fees of the last 30 days are shown above the list. Not started means nothing is promoted yet: the campaign is made the first time you promote a listing.
  • Sales take a percentage off for a set time, struck through on the listing and on eBay’s sale page. Press New sale, then choose every listing or one category.
  • Offers to watchers send a private discount to buyers watching a listing or holding it in their basket. They have 48 hours to accept.

Fees, margin and payouts

An eBay order shows What eBay kept: its fees on that sale, what you receive, and the margin once every product on the order has a cost price. Fees appear once eBay has settled the sale.

The connection’s Payouts tab shows the balance, as Available, Processing and On hold, and every payout with its date, status and the account it went to.

Returns and cancellations

Returns and cancellations that buyers open on eBay appear on the Returns page under Waiting on you at the marketplace, checked every 15 minutes, each with the time left to answer. Answer before the deadline, or eBay decides for you.

  • Accept the return sends the buyer eBay’s return instructions and approves the RMA here. Decline the return asks for a reason, which the buyer and eBay see.
  • Cancel the order has eBay refund the buyer, and the order is cancelled here with its stock released. A cancellation can only be refused for an order that has already shipped; the parcel’s date and tracking number go as proof.

Listing templates

Channels › Listing templates. A template is the page the listing is written into, designed once and filled with each product when it is published. Click a tag to insert it: the title, description, brand, price, pictures, a gallery laid out for a phone, a table of item specifics, a table of the vehicles a part fits, and up to four related products from the same category.

Your own fields are the things only you know about a product, such as a warranty. They are answered on each product under Template fields and can be placed in any template. Wrap a section in {{#if field.warranty}} … {{/if}} to show it only when the product has something to put in it. The preview fills the template with a product of your choice. Choose the template in the listing settings or in a listing profile.

Buyer messages

Messages shows what buyers have written to you on eBay in the last 30 days. Opening one marks it read on eBay too, and the answer goes to the buyer’s eBay messages. Only the buyer sees it.

Videos

A product’s Videos panel adds a short video to the top of its listing. Upload an MP4 or MOV of up to 150 MB, then send it to the connection. eBay hosts and processes it, and the panel shows when it is live.
