What is ready to pick
Fulfilment in the sidebar. Ready to pick is every order that is promised, paid for and waiting, oldest first, because that customer has been waiting longest. Each line says how many items across how many order lines.
An order appears here only once stock has been promised to it. If the list is empty and orders are waiting, they need promising first.
Making a pick list
- Tick the orders you want, or leave the selection empty for everything ready.
- Press Make a pick list. It reports the list's reference, how many orders are on it and how many items.
The list is ordered by bin location, so the walk is short and the same every time. It appears under Lists being walked with its progress. Cancel this list puts every order on it back in the queue; anything already picked stays picked.
Walking the list
- Press Start picking. You are given the next order on the list and it is held for you, so two people cannot pick the same one.
- For each line, say how many you found and press Confirm. The full quantity is offered; type a smaller number if that is what is on the shelf.
- Press Finished picking. Every line has to be confirmed first: an unconfirmed line is not the same as none found.
Put it back releases an order you have picked up by mistake. Take this one claims a specific order rather than the next one.
When something is not there
Confirming fewer than the line asks for does two things at once, and both are the point: the shelf count is corrected, because the goods are not there, and the promise is given back, because it cannot be kept. The order returns to the queue for whatever is left.
Nothing has to be typed into the stock screen afterwards. The correction is on the ledger with the pick as its reason.
Packing
- Under Packing, press Start a parcel.
- Fill in the carrier, the service and the weight in grams - whatever you are writing on the label.
- Press Packed and ready.
- Add the tracking number and press It has gone.
"It has gone" is the moment the stock leaves. The items come off the shelf and off the promise together. Nothing before this changes a number, so a parcel that is packed and not sent has not lied to anybody.
Pick sheets and packing slips
Print pick sheet produces the list as a PDF in bin order, for the person walking it. Print packing slip produces the parcel's own document for the box. Both are made on the spot from the same data the screen shows, so a sheet printed twice is the same sheet.
Telling the channel
A parcel that has gone is reported back to the channel it came from, with its tracking number, so the customer's shop account says dispatched without anybody signing into it. Parcels waiting to be reported are listed as such, and a channel that has not been told yet says so on the parcel rather than looking finished.
