The library
Media in the sidebar. It holds pictures and files that belong to the shop rather than to one product: a size chart, a brand logo, a PDF a listing links to.
- Upload takes JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or PDF, up to 10 MB each. Files can also be dropped straight onto the page, or onto a folder to land inside it.
- Search files looks through every folder at once, not only the one you are in.
- Selecting a file offers Rename and Delete. Deleting is permanent, and anything using the file stops showing it.
A picture used on a product is a copy taken for that product, so removing it from the product leaves the library untouched, and deleting it from the library leaves the product's copy alone.
Folders
The left column is the folder tree, with All files at the top for everything unfiled. New folder creates one; folders can be renamed and can hold folders. Find a folder filters the tree, and the sort control flips it A to Z or Z to A.
A folder has to be empty before it can be deleted, which is deliberate: a delete that took files with it would be one keystroke from losing a brand's whole gallery.
Moving and deleting
Three ways to move things, because different people reach for different ones.
- Drag a file, a selection of files or a folder onto a folder.
- Cut and paste. Cut marks what is to move, then paste into the folder you want. A folder cannot be pasted inside itself, and pasting where it already is says so rather than doing nothing quietly.
- Move the selected files to, a folder picker in the selection bar.
Selecting several files offers Delete permanently, which says how many and has no undo.
Where pictures live, and what they cost
A picture imported from a shop is either linked - it stays on that shop's server and costs nothing - or stored here, where it belongs to you and survives that shop closing. Which one is a per-connection setting.
Products › Import / Export and the products list both show the standing position: how many pictures are stored here and how much space they use, and how many still live on somebody else's server.
- Copy them here downloads each linked picture into your account. It runs in the background.
- Give that space back removes our copy of every picture that still has an address to fall back on and points the catalogue at that address again. Nothing disappears and copying brings them back. Pictures you uploaded yourself are never touched, because there is no other copy of those.
Copies of the same photograph
The same product imported from three shops arrives with three copies of one photograph. Check them for copies reads every stored picture back and compares them, by their bytes first and then by their file names. Repeats are taken out of the gallery and their space is given back; the picture itself stays and can be put back with one press.
On-model photographs
A picture of a garment on its own becomes a picture of somebody wearing it.
- Open the product and find the studio beside its pictures.
- Choose which picture - the garment on its own, flat or on a hanger, works best.
- Say what it is: a top, trousers or a skirt, a dress, or a jacket or coat.
- Choose who wears it: one of the presets, or a model of your own.
- Press Make the photograph and wait. It runs in the background.
- Look at the result properly, then Add to the product or Throw it away. Nothing is added to a product until you say so.
The counter beside it says how many photographs the account has left. Each photograph is one call to the image provider.
